What We Believe

Our Core Beliefs

Our core beliefs are intended to be a foundation for who we are as a church. There will always be peripheral doctrines that committed Christians disagree upon, but the core beliefs of Christianity are non-negotiable. Below is a list of our core beliefs:

  • The BIBLE is an objective, propositional revelation, verbally inspired in every word, absolutely inerrant in the original documents, infallible and God-breathed. Thus, the Bible is the guide for every area of our lives.

  • GOD is the sovereign Creator of all that is, and He is known to us as the triune God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

  • JESUS CHRIST is the Son of God. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect, sinless life, suffered, shed His blood, and died upon a cross, for the sins of all people. His death was a substitutionary death as He paid the price that we should have paid. He was buried, and on the third day He arose again in a bodily resurrection. He is visibly coming again at some point in the imminent future.

  • MANKIND is sinful by nature, therefore we need Jesus Christ to obtain salvation.

  • ETERNAL LIFE comes only through faith and trust in the work done by Jesus Christ upon the cross. This eternal life is available to all who will trust their lives to Christ.

Church Ordinances

Water Baptism

Scripture teaches that all who repent and believe in Christ are to be baptized by water. Baptism is a public profession of our faith in Christ. It is symbolic of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ. It is a declaration to the world that we have decided to "die to" or "put away our old way of" sin, and have been raised with, or "decided to entrust our lives to following" Christ to walk in newness of life.

Communion

The Lord's table consists of two elements: the bread and cup. Those elements are symbolic of the body and blood of Christ. Communion is a memorial of Christ's sufferings on the cross and a celebration of our salvation. Additionally, it is an opportunity for a believer to examine themself and experience forgiveness.
