Let's face it, life in this world can really be messed up and very difficult. Because we understand that, we have developed what we call "Community Groups."
It is our desire to see these gatherings take place in different homes, community centers, parks, nursing homes, libraries, and other places throughout the community. Groups may take trips together, go skiing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, Bible study, ladies tea, men's breakfast, kids craft day, youth football day, whatever they can think of to connect with one another and have a great time doing it!
These are usually small groups of people that get together every so often at various times of the week to meet, pray, eat, fellowship, encourage, worship and help each other through the challenges of life that everybody faces each and every day.
Some groups will meet every week, while some will only meet on occasion. It is very common to find some people involved in more than one group.
You'll find that each group will have its own makeup, or 'flavor'. We're pretty sure that there is one just right for you. And, we will be starting new groups all of the time, so, if you have not found just the right group, it's probably just around the corner.
Big things happen in a small group of people that don't happen in a big group of people.
"Christianity" is a lot more than just coming to a worship service once each week and saying "have a great week" to one another. How deep is that? Not deep at all. We need to go deeper--deep enough to truly "be there" for each other through thick and thin.
We also see the need to be there on a practical level for those within our community who don't go to church. We feel that we need to support them, show them that we love them, connect with them, understand where they are in life, help them, pray for them, pray with them, show them what our faith really means to us in our own personal daily lives.
A small group that meets regularly will help everyone involved. It can change your life in dramatic ways!
Let's do this life journey thing together!
If you are interested in joining one of the Community Groups listed, or just want to check out one or more of the groups to see if you like it, please contact us.
Maybe you're interested in starting a group of your own or just hosting a group in your home on occasion--that would be great!
To join a group, or start a group of your own, or for more information, please contact Pastor Ron at 301.667.5300 or you may click here to send an email.
This group is on break, but will resume the first Wednesday in January.
EVERY WEDNESDAY, 7:30 p.m.
This is a completely open group, where Pastor Ron answers questions starting with "What does the Bible say about . . . ?" Anyone in the community can drop in to check out this group. It is designed as a MID-WEEK PICK-ME-UP time of contemporary praise and worship in song, Bible study, discussion, and prayer. This group meets in the children's church room on the upper level of our Family Life Center, (please use the upper level entrance on Adams Street.) Everyone is invited, including children and youth. FREE CHILDCARE is available.
If you're interested in joining a daytime group, hosting, or co-leading, please contact Frank and Nadine Bready.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH
SUNDAY, weekly, 10:00 a.m.
(Doors open at 9:45 a.m. for sign-in and drop-off.) This group is designed especially for children ages pre-k through fifth grade, and is held during our weekly worship service. Children will sing, have a fun-filled, engaging Bible lesson, and either a craft or other fun activity that goes along with the general principle of the lesson. Click here for details. We hope to begin a mid-week group in the near future.
DAYS AND TIMES VARY
Our goal is to schedule one to two times each month for our youth, middle and high school ages, to get together for a fun social activity, trip somewhere, concert, short Bible study, great music, sometimes times of worship and prayer, and almost always some kind of food!
While we do try to keep upcoming dates, times, locations, etc. posted here, you may contact us for specific information at 301.874.2633 or you may click here to send an email.
DAYS AND TIMES VARY
This group focuses on men's needs, fellowship, activities, outings, and helping one another grow stronger. Iron sharpens iron. We believe that men need to keep ourselves in-check by holding one another accountable, being there when another is in need, helping each other get through sometimes difficult problems that we face in life. Saturday breakfasts, Bible studies, prayer times, etc. are all examples of how this group connects. Click here for upcoming dates and times.
DAYS AND TIMES VARY

DAYS AND TIMES VARY
Those of us who struggle with our weight, had Weight Watchers hold a 17-week program here at the church. Now that we are onward with the program, attending meetings regular at various sites throughout the area, we will only meet occasionally, for a time of in-house support and prayer. This group remains open to the public. Click here for upcoming dates and times.
